Job Description :

Tetra Tech AMT is looking for an Electrical/Electronic Engineer. The Electrical/Electronics Engineer applies software, hardware, and standards knowledge in the analysis, specification, development, integration, and acquisition of systems in support of the Federal Aviation Administration Navigation Services Directorate’s High Intensity Approach Lighting System with Sequenced Flashing Lights (ALSF-2) project.

Primary job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures these systems are compliant with FAA standards.
  • Evaluates and recommends process for configuration management, safety, reliability, maintainability, integrity and other engineering disciplines to improve navigation services.
  • Conducts studies and analysis for navigation services and provides data, information, databases and other products.
  • Support the development and maintenance and improvement of system engineering in the Navigation Services Directorate.
  • Evaluate technical and operational requirements for systems and services in the NAS.
  • Develop a requirements document in accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) policy.
  • Develop equipment specifications in accordance with approved FAA guidelines.
  • Recommend updates to existing specifications as applicable.
  • Participate in the field installation of the ALSF-2 Replacement Lamp Monitoring System (RLMS).
  • Participate in the development of Statement of Work (SOW) for ancillary items. Provide Configuration Management support in the development and processing of change proposals.
  • Participate in Program meetings, locally in the Washington, D.C area, or where requested by the FAA.
  • Coordinate and attend b-weekly project review meetings.
  • Coordinate teleconferences and/or virtual conferences as directed by the FAA Project Lead.
  • Coordinate the establishment of appropriate project baselines.
  • Provide input and maintain project schedules.
Job Requirements :

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, negotiating, and written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to research and evaluate vendors
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, and data networking solutions and environments.
  • Works well independently as well as within a team environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in a principle or related discipline may substitute for 2 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in Electronic engineering in the aerospace industry.
  • Two years of which must include specialized navigation experience.
