Slayden Constructors Inc. (SCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, Inc. (MWH), is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator or Intern to support critical water, wastewater, and dam rehabilitation projects for both municipal and industrial clients. The position will be based out of Salem, Oregon.

- Provide guidance and assistance to the Health & Safety Manager in establishing and maintaining safety operations in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Administer, direct, and manage compliance with the project to ensure safety goals are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure safety regulations and standards compliance.
- Provide training and orientation to employees and subcontractors on safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and safety-related documentation.
- Participate in safety meetings, committees, and initiatives to promote a proactive approach to safety culture and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 4-year occupational safety/health degree or engineering/science degree.
- Thoroughly understand construction methods and federal, state, health, and safety standards.
- Proven experience in health and safety management within the civil construction industry, including knowledge of relevant regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and work flexible hours when required.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST, CSP and/or CIH preferred.
