Job Description
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling electrical components and/or sub-assemblies for compressors.  This position reports to the Assembly Operations Supervisor/CIC. 

JOB FUNCTIONS
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics.  Utilize these drawings in placement of parts on assemblies.
  • Install and connect electrical components such as transformers, PLCs, starters, relays, etc., following a blueprint.
  • Build wiring harnesses to required specifications.
  • Utilize basic hand and power tools for daily operations.
  • Effectively and efficiently run cabling and properly terminate ends.
  • Accurately follow schematic for control boxes and assemblies.
  • Communicate the status of missing parts needed to produce assemblies and harnesses with a sense of urgency.
  • Use any specialized tooling that is required within the respective area. Complete any necessary certifications if required to do so.
  • Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Properly run/connect wire harnesses on production units in process.
  • Utilize basic electrical tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, measuring tape and multi-meters to complete electrical assemblies as well as testing connections.
  • Utilize power tools such as drills and knockout punches to build electrical assembly panels/enclosures.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies.
  • Maintain work environment in accordance with Lean 5S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Understand BOM change process and communicate change requirements throughout build.
  • Utilize ERP software to accurately record time worked.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Workmanship Standards as well as the ISO quality system. Utilize these practices in everyday activity.



ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related electrical assembly experience in point-to-point wiring and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Wiring single and three phase motors experience
  • Wire harness assembly experience
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
  • Able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
  • Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power, and air tools.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn.
