Job Description
The Puyenpa family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. We are actively seeking an Information Security Analyst in the Hampton, VA. area. This position is expected to be onsite, and an active DoD Secret Clearance will be required.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting the Air Combat Command Defensive Cyber Operations contract for the United States Air Force. The qualifications needed for this role include:
  • Performs security governance through the design and implementation of security policies, procedures, guidelines and standards to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems and data.
  • Tests and reports on new technologies and reporting security concerns through the creation of security vulnerability assessments.
  • Contributes to the development of analytic approaches and recommendations to problems and situations for which data are incomplete, controversial, or which no precedence exists.
  • Applies a strong understanding of intelligence analytic concepts to monitor, assess, and report on cyberspace operations, capabilities, and vulnerabilities.
  • Provides appropriate training to other security specialists and external customers on developed standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Designs and implements security solutions to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations, controls and infrastructure.
  • Develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cyber security risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents.

  • Knowledge - Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards. Full knowledge of industry practice & general knowledge of other related specialties.

  • Discretion/Latitude - Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
  • Impact - Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.  Errors or failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations typically cause delays in schedules & considerable expenditure of resources.
  • Liaison/Leadership - Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May instruct, or serve as a resource for other professionals.
The qualified candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems related degrees
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Five years of experience working at an Air Staff or AF Major Command (MAJCOM) or similar government agency or overseeing/supporting DoD IT systems.
  • Three years’ experience with systems and/or acquisition life cycle support
  • Three years’ experience working with system designs, equipment characteristics, techniques, requirements, methods, and procedures in order to evaluate alternatives and provide advice and assistance
  • Three years’ experience working with Information Assurance policies and regulations for certification and accreditation.
