Job Overview

The purpose of the position it sto provide technical support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in support of the Portable Radios Progam (PRP) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA). This position provides Depot level repair, and overhaul of tactical radios, communications equipment, shipboard repair and casualty repairs and training of radios.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Provide support for test and evaluation of equipment readiness.
  • Interface with Ship's Company to arrange and organize test events and casualty response.
  • Provide Pre-Installation Checkout (PICO) support for equipment must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Implement field changes, test, and evaluate radios.
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities.
  • Provide monthly and weekly status reports for the customer and Program Manager.
  • Works well individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Electronics training graduate from a technical school, military school (Class A or Class B in Electronics or Communications), or
    • Four (4) years apprentice program with ten (10) years' experience.
  • Two (2) years' experience providing technical support for Tactical Handheld communications.
  • Background in Tactical Handheld communication with experience of one (1) or more of
  • Radios listed below.
    • AN/PRC-157 (all variants)
    • AN/PRC-150
    • AN/PRC-152
    • AN/PRC-152A
    • AN/PRC-117F
    • AN/PRC-117G
    • AN/PRC-160
    • AN/VRC-114
    • AN/VRC-110
    • AN/VRC-122
    • VRC-104 HF BASE Station
    • Shipboard Handheld Communications Systems
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record upon request.
